Rumor has it I’ve been building since I was 3 - forts, Legos, puzzles. I’ve always loved figuring out how things work and solving problems. Call me a little bit of a Tinker Bell.
My hands started paying the bills full-time in 2014, repairing espresso machines for a coffee company with a green siren. From there, I worked as a Regional Facilities Maintenance Manager, covering a wide range of trades across major cities on the East Coast and in the Midwest. I also hold a Handyman Certificate from York College, with training in basic plumbing, electrical, drywall, and more.
I founded She Fixed That in September 2019—right before the pandemic. By June 2020, with so many folks stuck working from home, I stayed busy assembling office furniture, hanging curtains, reinforcing towel bars, arranging gallery walls, and creating safe outdoor social spaces with patio string lights.
I’ll always love being a Jill of all trades, but life changes took me to Birmingham, Alabama, where I honed my woodworking skills alongside a female carpenter... and that was it. I found my calling in carpentry.
I moved back to NY/NJ in April 2023 and reopened my doors with a focus on finish carpentry, and I became a Fresh Starts Registry Expert. Through that partnership, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to publications like Better Homes & Gardens, Apartment Therapy, Martha Stewart, Real Simple, Family Handyman, and more. (You can check out my press page!)
I love that I get to use my hands and bring ease to people’s lives, and I aim to be more than just the Googled “carpenter near me.” My goal is to provide safe, transparent, trustworthy, professional service and build community, give back, and foster connection.
It’s wild to think I’ve been working with my hands for over 12 years and running my own business for 6. Some days are hard, some are easy, and some are boring—but I’m here for all of it, and I’m genuinely grateful.
